The course is an
annual event of the Institute and is
particularly meant for those who are engaged in
survey research and have dealt with data
processing, analysis and interpretation.
One of the purposes of the training programme is
to help students in developing affinity towards
computers and overcome any apprehensions and
inhibitions regarding its use. With a mix of
theoretical inputs and practical sessions, it is
hoped that participants would gain confidence in
carrying out data analysis and other related
work on computer on their own.
Methodology
The course is designed as a combination of
theoretical lectures and hands-on experience on
computers. By using data provided by the
participants various statistical concepts and
techniques, from simple univariate to more
complex multivariate techniques of data analysis
using SPSS are covered. The course will also
cover general introduction to computers and
various techniques of word processing.
Participation Criteria
The participants pursuing doctoral work, college
& university faculty members, or members of
recognized research Institutes who are engaged
in doctoral work may apply for this course.
Candidates with adequate knowledge of statistics
and familiarity with computer applications are
preferred.
All applicants are requested to send one page
synopsis/note on their research work, or the
current area of their work along with the
application.
