Along with a
Technology Demonstration Lab (nodal center) at
the institute, Rural Stations serve as a Lab cum
Resource centre for researchers, farmers,
students and other users. The Rural Stations and
the Nodal Centre aim to empower rural people
through information dissemination in appropriate
technology know how and easy access to experts.
They will also act as a pedagogical medium for
students and researchers for learning and
intervening in rural areas. The rural stations
serve as a link between the institute and the
village communities, with the following
objectives:

The institute will
make available its Social Science Knowledge to
facilitate integrated development of village
communities and to learn from these communities.

To achieve above,
the institute will share with the community
members its knowledge about innovations,
technology and resources.
These stations
are situated at:

Asepur
The Rural Station at village Asepur, is
concerned with Community support for girl's
education, vocational Training to school going
girls, and capacity building of teachers by
organization of Kala - Jathas.

Sansarpur
The Rural Station at village Sanasarpur, in
partnership with village Panchayats and SHGs is
involved in Micro Level planning, developing
medicinal plants chain, capacity building of
rural producers, networking with organizations
engaged in vocational training, awareness for
right to education and organizing health camps.

Shankargarh
The Rural station at village Shankargarh is
focusing on Micro-Enterprise including training,
Rural Education with special emphasis on
education of disadvantaged children through
community participation and health participation
in collaboration with an NGO SANKALP.

Shahabpur
The Rural station at village Shahabpur, in
partnership with Manav Vikas Sangrahalaya and
village panchayat is working on developing
cultural stations and for providing community
support for elementary education.
